How do I transfer files from my phone to my PC wirelessly?

How do I transfer photos from iPhone to a Windows PC without iTunes?

Do I need to install anything on the computer?
Not to receive by link — any browser works, with no app or account. For fast, direct nearby transfers, install the free BIShare app on the computer too; it unlocks two-way sending and higher speeds, but it's never required just to download a shared file.
